NAPPA’s Celebrity Stuff-a-thon Brings Smiles to Kids of the Ronald McDonald House

Last weekend, boxes filled with toys and games were overflowing from the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (LARMH), a home away from home for families with critically ill children receiving care at nearby hospitals. These items were donations given to the National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) 4th Annual Celebrity Stuff-a-thon, a red carpet event presented by Billy Beez indoor play parks and hosted by “Good Luck Charlie” star, Leigh-Allyn Baker for the fourth year.

“As a parent, I cannot imagine what it would be like to have a child who is critically ill. The amount of worry and stress on the entire family would be overwhelming and debilitating,” says Baker. "I’m so grateful to the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House for keeping families close during an unimaginable time so that they can focus on what matters most: their sick child.”

Each year, the Celebrity Stuff-a-thon brings together actors from today’s most popular TV shows to stuff over 500 bags with the toys, games, books, DVDs and school supplies. “We’re so grateful to our celebrity stuffers who not only come out for a day of community service, but also help spread the word of worthy charities, such as the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House through their social media reach,” says Julie Kertes, general manager of the National Parenting Publications Awards and What's In-Store Music Director of Operations.

This year's event was made extra special as some of the LARMH children were able to meet and greet their favorite TV stars from shows such as “Best Friends Whenever,” “BUNK’D,” “black-ish,” “I Didn’t Do It,” “Liv and Maddie,” “K.C. Undercover” and “Bella and the Bull Dogs” and help stuff bags on the assembly line.

The bags will be given to the families residing at The House to provide a little bit of cheer during their stay.
