What’s In-Store Music Clients: What are they up to now?
Since its inception, What’s In-Store Music has had the pleasure of working with some amazing artists, helping them expose their priority music through hundreds of thousands of in-store impressions across the country. We are grateful and proud to have been part of so many wonderful campaigns.
So what are they up to now? Let’s check in on a few.
Family of The Year had a major breakout hit with “HERO,” which coincidentally was WISM’s first breakout hit as it was our very first submission. The band is currently working on music for a new album and will be one of the featured acts on May 28th at Musician’s Corner in Nashville along with The Jayhawks, Robert Rudolph & The Family Band, The Mowgli’s and more.
Alessia Cara exploded on to the scene with an early appearance on the Tonight show with her eventual #1 debut single “HERE.” WISM was pleased to be a part of this project from the very beginning, especially when Jimmy Fallon said he heard the song while he was out and had to have her on the show. Our congratulations go out to Alessia whose Def Jam album, Know It All, was just certified GOLD!
Spandau Ballet: Don’t call it a comeback. Okay call it a comeback. Spandau Ballet enjoyed an amazing 2015 with a successful documentary “Soul Boys of The Western World,” a greatest hits album with two American charting singles “Steal” and “This is The Love” and a sold out world tour. WISM was there the whole time as we helped them with hundreds of thousands of in-store impressions throughout the year. Currently in the studio working on new music, the guys have just re-released the album that started it all for them in the US. TRUE is now available on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl on the band’s website.
Andrew McMahon in The Wilderness' "Cecilia & The Satellite" was a radio favorite across multiple formats as well as in stores all across America with a little help from their friends at WISM. These guys never seem to take a break from performing, (including last October’s SPRINT performance they did with us in Santa Barbara). Catch them on tour this summer with an amazing lineup including Weezer and Panic at The Disco.
Jess Glynne has received a ton of in-store love with her single “Hold My Hand.” This young lady is not messing around, singing in front of as many people as she can. With already 76 shows under her belt in 2016, she is set to play some of the biggest festivals out there including Glastonbury, The Isle of Wight Festival and back in the US, The Austin City Limits Festival. Keep an eye out for a show near you and keep your ears peeled for her in stores across the country.
Nina Shallman: Although we work equally as hard for every act who places a song with us, we do have our favorites. As far as indie acts go, Nina Shallman is one of those favorites. Nina has placed two tracks with What’s In-Store: a holiday song “I’d Rather Be” and “Never Years Old,” which also had amazing video to go along with it. There is a reason she is one of our favorites. She is one of the smoothest most natural indie singers we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Don’t believe us? have a look for yourself. Here’s a live performance of her single “Oftener Than Often/Happy Together” mash-up. C’mon now!
If you’d like to join this wonderful group of artists and have your priority music placed in thousands of stores across the country, simply submit your music and we will take care of the rest.
