"Breathless" by William Prince
"Breathless" is about things with no comparison. The first time my parents showed me Elvis Presley, growing up in Canada with the northern lights, these are things that I remember having an impact on me when it came to appreciating something special. There’s hope in the thought of a person having that much meaning in your life someday. Someone who takes your breath away just being who they are.
I was still so young in love when I wrote this song. Since then I’ve experienced what I was only speculating it would feel like when it became something meaningful. In a world where everything is “amazing,” I hope we all get to marvel at something truly special in our lives. I’ve seen it in the northern lights, heard it in the rain and felt it from the sun. Beautiful indicators that I’m still alive and get to live a blessed life.
