Meet the Team

Scott Emerson, Partner

Scott came up with the concept for What’s In-Store Music in 2014 after securing in-store airplay for an independent artist he was working at his previous company, Emerdood Promotion, an independent promotion, and marketing company.  It became immediately clear to him the value of in-store airplay not only for major label acts but for indie acts as well. What’s In-Store Music is designed to promote priority music from major labels on down to independent artists. Presenting it to decision makers in an organized and professional manner, allowing them to choose from the very best music available regardless of whether the act is signed or not.
 
Prior to opening Emerdood, Emerson spent fourteen years as the head of Hot AC and AC Promotion for A&M Records and subsequently Interscope, Geffen, A&M when all three companies merged. During his tenure, Emerson was instrumental in developing and executing successful campaigns for artists such as Sting, U2, Bryan Adams, Elton John, Janet Jackson, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow, One Republic, Snow Patrol, Fergie, Amy Grant, Blues Traveler, Smash Mouth and countless others.

Bob Catania, Partner

Bob is a long time senior promotion executive with a career that has spanned over four decades. Bob began his career in Philadelphia as the local RCA representative before moving to New York in a national capacity. He left RCA to run Rock Promotion at Island Records and soon became the Head of Promotion. After Island, Bob worked as  Head Of Promotion at; Charisma; Geffen; Giant; and Curb Records. Over the course of his career he has run campaigns for artists including U2; Melissa Etheridge; Robert Palmer; Aerosmith; Nirvana; Beck; Counting Crows; The Eagles; Guns ‘n’ Roses;  Lisa Loeb; Steely Dan; Disturbed; Leann Rimes; Tim McGraw and hundreds more. In 2008 he started Right Way Music Group and ran hundreds of radio campaigns for artists from both the major label and independent sectors.
 
Bob had been a long time strategic partner with Scott Emerson and his company Emerdood Promotion and was excited by the What’s In-Store Music concept that Scott came up with. Over the course of many conversations about the possibilities that the service could offer, Scott Invited Bob to partner with him to bring his years of experience and relationships to the company. The combination of the two principals brings an unparalleled amount of promotion and marketing experience to benefit the clients.
